Do you file my taxes?
No. I'm a bookkeeper, not a CPA or enrolled agent, so I don't prepare or file returns and I don't give tax advice. What I do is keep your books clean all year and hand your tax preparer a finished, reconciled year-end package — which usually makes their work faster and cheaper. If you don't have a CPA yet, I'm glad to point you toward a few in the area.
What software do you use?
QuickBooks Online. If you're already on it, I work inside your file. If you're not, I'll get you set up and walk you through the parts you'll actually touch — which is fewer than you'd think.
What do you need from me each month?
Read-only access to your business accounts, and a quick answer when I ask what a transaction was for. That's the whole ask. Most clients spend under fifteen minutes a month on this.
My books are a mess and a year behind. Is that a problem?
It's common and it's fixable. Catch-up work gets quoted as a one-time project after I see the scope, then you move onto a monthly plan going forward. Nobody gets a lecture about it.
Do I need a separate business bank account?
Strongly recommended, and it's usually the first thing I'll suggest. Mixing personal and business spending is the single biggest reason books turn into a mess. If you don't have one yet, that's an easy fix and I'll walk you through it.
How is my financial information handled?
Access is read-only wherever possible. Documents are exchanged through a secure client portal rather than email attachments, and records are retained for seven years in line with standard practice. Commission Ledger Co. carries professional liability (errors and omissions) insurance — a certificate of insurance is available upon request. Everything is covered in the engagement letter before any work begins.
Are you taking new clients?
A few at a time. This is deliberately a small practice, which means your books get looked at by the same person every month. When I'm full, I'll say so rather than take on more than I can do well.

I started Commission Ledger Co. because I kept seeing the same problem — commission earners doing well on paper but never quite sure where they stood. A great closing month, and then two quiet ones, and suddenly the numbers stopped making sense. That's a bookkeeping problem, not an income problem.

My background is in risk and compliance — fifteen years managing it professionally, including a CISSP certification in information security. That means when I tell you your financial records are handled securely and confidentially, it's not just a promise. It's my profession.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means your books get the same set of eyes every month. I'm also bilingual — if you're more comfortable talking through your finances in Spanish, we can do that.

When I'm not working, I'm in Naples with my family. This business was built to fit around that — which means I'm selective about who I take on, and the clients I do work with get my full attention.
